Captain's Log - 1310

Out in the Gulf making 5 mph toward Cedar Key. Left the Suwannee behind after resupply at Millers Marina. We took on 22 gallons of fuel to top off. I also without notice asked the dock hand if he knew a mechanic to change our oil, etc. No problem - he did it right then, changed oil in engine, generator, and topped off our hydraulic steering in about 30 minutes - awesome! And labor was less than $40? WOW.
We were delayed about 30 minutes when we ran aground in 1 foot of water. I was distracted and ran up the main river channel which is well marked but way shallow. We timed our departure with a rising tide, so 30 minutes later we broke free and turned around to the correct channel.
Dolphins are jumping about in front of the boat. Seems they love our boat, I think because there are not many boats out here, and we go slow enough for them to hang out and cruise our wake. Pretty much every time we see them they join up and play. I wonder if they are using our boat's shadow to hide in and then attack fish that they see scatter out of our path? Who knows?
