Captain's Log - 0420

Just woke up 30 minutes ago and my waking stirred Gilligan awake. This was good because he was on watch. I checked the chart plotter and we were running toward the shallows. Now 4 miles off the coast of Homosassa Bay Running a course of 344 degrees at 4 knots. Must be a current here as 3100 rpms ain't going very fast. Earlier we were running directly for Cedar Key and we ended up far enough offshore that the Easterly wind had enough fetch to produce a 2 to 3 foot beam sea. Very uncomfortable in a catamaran We held off to the East, reduced the fetch, and got an angle on the seas. Much more comfortable ride. Should hit the Crystal River Channel in three and a half hours.

Gilligan on Watch.
